How to Copy and Paste Symbols on Any Device
Whether you need to type symbols in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Discord, Instagram, or code editors, here is the complete reference for every operating system.
Windows 10 / 11
- One-Click: Click any symbol card above to copy directly to clipboard.
- Symbol Panel: Press Win + . (period) or Win + ; for native symbol panel.
- Numeric Alt Codes: Hold down Alt and enter numeric keypad code (e.g. Alt+0176 for °).
- Clipboard History: Press Win + V to paste previously copied symbols anytime.
Mac & macOS
- Option Key Combos: Hold Option (or Opt+Shift) with keys (e.g. Opt+2 for ™).
- Character Viewer: Press Cmd + Ctrl + Space for macOS Emoji & Symbol viewer.
- Accented Letters: Long-press any vowel on keyboard to reveal accent variations.
- Instant Web Copy: Tap any tile on WayToType for direct paste into Pages, Notes, or Safari.

- AutoCorrect Shortcuts: Type
